Masters of the Universe

Watched this movie a while ago, it is time to share with you some thoughts about it.

Origin

Movie was made from the story about the great warrior, He-man, and cartoon "He-man and the Masters of the Universe" from the 80th. In the 2010th there was a youtube video, that goes viral, so that is one way you may heard about this one.

If you are really interested in the cartoon, you may find some real controversial stuff:

Controversial indeed.

All I want to say, is try to think before showing that cartoon to your children's, there most likely wont be any major issues though, but still. Same things 30 years ago and now could look very different for a young folks.

Pros and cons

Heading back to the movie, there are pros:

+ Great actors you most likely know from popular TV-shows and some action movies (Courteney Cox, Dolph Lundgren, Chelsea Field)

+ Stunning visual effects. Ok, maybe not THAT stunning, but there are definitely few scenes you could appreciate. Both costumes and set are made by hands with attention level to details that is hard to find these days.

+ Chelsea Field

Cons are:

- Weak plot.

- Lot of empty meaningless dialogues.

- Weak characters and lack of motivation.

Finding this movie was a bit of adventure itself. Evening, I am searching trough the GIFs on the Telegram and observing this one:

That exact moment, I am punching in the browser and starting some Google kung-fu. I mean, come on, you got a young Dolph Lundgren, hoverboards, sword fights... What else could you possibly wish for?

Feel obligated to let you down, though, there is not a whole lot of a sword fights(like 3 or so) and the quality of them is so-so. Shootouts is very much alike story, they are overextended and tasteless. Real pearl of that movie is Chelsea Field starring as Teela:

Summary

This movie is kinda hard to watch(except for the few nice scenes and dialogues) and you may accidentally find yourself rewing up the whole film. Despite that, this motion picture could be the real deal for those fans of 80th spirit of adventure that you may recall from watching movies like The Gremlins or The Goonies.
